Dr. George Mueller, MD F.A.C.S
There are several surgical options available for the treatment of Morbid Obesity. The Laparoscopic Roux-en-y Divided Gastric Bypass is one of the surgeries that Dr. George Mueller performs. The Roux-en-y Divided Gastric Bypass is considered the GOLD standard procedure in the United States. Dr. George Mueller is the primary surgeon at San Diego General & Bariatric Surgeons. He received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Southern California. Following completion, he attended St. George's University School of Medicine and received his degree as a medical doctor. He then completed his surgical residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital where he acted as Chief Resident from 1986- 1987. Dr. Mueller is currently the Medical Director for the Sharp Memorial Hospital Bariatric Program in San Diego, California. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, is Board Certified, and a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Mueller has performed thousands of laparoscopic procedures and made the decision to offer the Gastric Bypass procedure in 2001. The growing epidemic of Morbid Obesity has given Dr. Mueller a sense of responsibility and a passion for helping treat those individuals suffering from this debilitating disease. Dr. Mueller takes pride in providing his patients with a comprehensive program within a comfortable and caring environment.
